Thank you for an amazing 11th annual A Liar’s Cruise
The weather on Saturday, October 5th was phenomenal - cool, calm, and sunny, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day aboard the Tahoe Gal. This annual fundraising event for the Foundation supports education and interpretation programs and preservation and restoration projects in our California State Parks in the Tahoe-Donner region.
As a more light-hearted event to close out our in-person summer event season, it’s always a pleasure to connect with our supporters, and welcome lots of new faces, as we cruise along the waters of Lake Tahoe towards Sugar Pine Point State Park from Tahoe City aboard the Tahoe Gal. Attendees enjoyed delicious food and free flowing wine sponsored by Highway 12 Winery. The main feature of this storytelling event included a mixture of Foundation supporters telling tales, and it was up to the audience to guess if they are telling the truth, or if they were lying, thus A Liar’s Cruise. This year the liars were actually pretty truthful! A lot of the feedback was how awesome and “even better stories this year!” comments.
Additionally, we had a robust live auction to raise more funds for our parks. We are thankful for all of the local businesses and partners who donated items for our auction. And, we are thankful for the North Tahoe Community Alliance, the North Tahoe Chamber and the TOT-TBID Dollars at Work program for being an event sponsor.
Overall, it was a very successful day being merry and happy aboard the Tahoe Gal with park supporters.
