Our own Kelly Cave, Tour Guide, shared a heartwarming story from her time in the field:
"During a recent Vikingsholm tour, I met a gentleman who shared a story that gave me goosebumps. He told me that his mother had received a college scholarship from Lora Knight [philanthropist and founder of Vikingsholm Castle], an opportunity that opened doors for her and helped her build a better future. The scholarship had a profound impact on her life and, in turn, their family's life.
He also remembered briefly visiting Vikingsholm with his mother one summer many years ago. Standing there, sharing his memories and gratitude for Lora Knight's generosity, he reminded me how far-reaching one person's kindness can be. Before we parted ways, I thanked him for telling me his story and shook his hand. He was so genuine and down to earth!
