Washoe or Wá∙šiw Earth Day
The fun begins at 10:00 am. This fun, family- oriented event attracts tribal members from all Washoe communities in both Nevada and California. The event has an emphasis on environmental education and engaging our tribal youth with land stewardship.
Wá∙šiw Earth Day is an opportunity for local businesses, area non-profits, and governmental agencies to interact with the Washoe Community, distribute environmental educational materials, and showcase achievements and ongoing projects in our homelands. Our goal is to have a fun-filled day that focuses on environmental practices like water and energy conservation, recycling, and creating climate resilience.
